In February Tetyana was having some very serious problems with donor cell rejection and had to return to hospital for treatment. She is better now but skin problems persist.
Money is still needed. Maria and Tetyana have debt of approx. EUR 55 000.
Great thanks to all who donated money, spread information, prayed or helped in any other way! A year has passed since Tetyana’s mother Maria asked for peoples help. Tetyana then had vary poor chances to survive. Inability of Ukrainian medicine to help the girl, extremely high cost of bone marrow transplantation in Europe or Israel, weakness, fever, and no hope.
Now thanks to you and to people in the Ukraine and in other countries, thanks to the clinic in Germany which agreed to start the transplantation with only partial advance payment Tetyana is recovering. She is not staying in hospital, she just comes for check-up and treatment herself. She is studying in a school in Hamburg and she’s one of the best studens there! She flew home to met her little brother and returned to Hamburg.

“They say there are no miracles. I tell you there are! Isn’t it a miracle that Tetyana can live?”
And Tetyana is saying: “I thank you for giving me a chance to live and wish that such thing would never happen to you or someone of your family!”.
The donor’s cells were implanted 12 days ago. The bone marrow has started to produce new blood cells!
For the last week Tetyana was taking chemical therapy course. Now she has zero immunity and is staying in a glass box to prevent infections. Her mother Maria is with her, at daytime separated by the glass door, at night - inside the box with Tetyana. There were some occasional allergic reactions and fever. Sometimes she feels better and eats usual food, sometimes when she can’t or doesn’t want to eat, she has special nutrition solutions infused. The first donor’s cells are going to be implanted soon.
Ukrainian TV showed updated story of Tetyana in “Critical point” programme. It’s based on the previous one with the addition of new information regarding the German clinic.

At present Tetyana and her mother Maria are in German clinic Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf. The diagnosis is confirmed. Tetyana will have a course of chemical therapy and the bone marrow transplantation soon after that.
There is still a need of money, donations do not cover the cost of operation yet, 60 000 euro are to be collected. The clinic kindly offered Tetyana and Maria to pay the remaining sum after the transplantation, but it has to be paid.

€118 440 has been collected. Tetyana has not been operated yet, but she and her mother Maria are in a German clinic now. The search of matching donor is not finished yet, the more close matching is the more chances of success are.

Tetyana is staying at home waiting until the matching donor is found. When she feels good enough she makes flowers and trees from glass beads. During the last week she couldn’t do it because of pain in her back and legs.
